You can create and adjust categories  for your group by clicking Group Manager > Categories.

 

This screen is blank if you have created no categories.  You'll see a "New Category" button at the top right.

 

Click New Category and you'll see a form asking for the name of the rank and whether the category should be set to visible or hidden.

 

Once categories have been created, the Group Manager > Categories page will show you the current categories and their visibility status.

 

How are categories useful?

  • Categories can be used to instantly make an entire set of quests available or not available by changing the visibility of the category
  • Students and instructors can track category progress on the progress bars that appear on the playercard

 

Categories are also helpful in terms of sectioning or sequencing content and tracking student progress through that content.  You can use the playercard view to see a student's progress through your categories.
